What I am Reading Now.Patriot Hearts By Barbara Hambly

I am reading Patriot Hearts as one of the books for the historical challenge. This is my first historical novel set in The United States. The book is about four of the Founding Mothers of our nation, Martha Washington, Abigail Adams, Sally Hemmings, and Dolley Madison. So far it has been a slow read I hope it will pick up soon I can not wait to find out more about these interesting women

The Women Who Raised Me

Victoria Rowell blew me away with this beautiful book on her life. In the book she pays tribute to the women who raised her and the woman who gave her life.
She shares with us her stories of living with these remarkable women and how each one helped shape her life. Being a fan of her work on Young and the Restless I could see allot of her character Drucilla in these women. From her hat collection to her sassy attitude. This book covers a great deal about her love for the ballet. A paragraph about her work on Y&R is included but most of all it is a tribute to the women in her life.
I would recommend this book to any one who is a fan of Ms. Rowell's work or if they just want a good story about mentoring and foster care.

Fallen Skies By Philippa Gregory

Fallen Skies wasa hard read for me I really did not like the characters at all. which is a shame for me beinga Phillipa Gregory fan this book is not like her Tudor series. Stephen is a wealthy World War I Veteran who suffere from post tramatic syndrome. He falls in love with Lily who is a sheltered girl who lives with her mother and she marries Stephen after her mother passes in hopes that he will give her secure future.Instead she is in a loveless marriage in a world that she doesn't understand. This is one of PG's first books and I was really looking forward to reading it. I just didn't enjoy it as much as I thought I would.
