The Property of a Lady By Elizabeth Alder

Summary:An emerald from an aristocratic Russian family tiara, missing since the Bolshevik Revolution, turns up in Geneva and provides the key to an international cat-and-mouse game of intrigue and espionage. Filled with vivid descriptions of characters and places, the book is at once a love story, a mystery, and a spy thriller that will transport you  to such exotic locales as Russia, Istanbul, and the teeming streets of New York's Lower East Side. The search for the mystery lady who put the gem up for sale.

My Thoughts:
This is another Gem I found in our local library for a couple of years I have been intrigued by this book because of the tiara on the cover. The story focus's on the emerald from the tiara and the the fictional  Imperial  family the Ivanoffs. The storydoes go from time to time pretty quickly and it does  spend time on the characters one by one  so that you get to know them and thier motivations. I just wished it didn't jump from era to era  they way it did. Great spy story and and lots of twist and turns with a litle bit of Royalty mixed in.   It isn't a must read but if you see it in your library check it out  it is worth reading ona  cold  and rainy weekend.

The cover is very enchanting. I will keep an eye out for this one next time I'm in the library. Thanks for the review!
